Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of a cultural arts course(s) within the Ahfachkee Traditional Preservation Program. The individual in this position is also be responsible for teaching, Seminole traditional arts and craft objects using a variety of techniques, such as beadwork, basketry, patchwork, and other expressions of arts and crafts. High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. Prior teaching experience is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Knowledge of Seminole culture, history and art and craft traditional customs is required. Ability to speak the Creek and/or Miccosukee language is preferred. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
