Job Description

The Human Resources Director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Human Resources function, including organizational planning, recruitment, compensation, benefits, human resources systems, education training and professional development, employee relations, and payroll. The individual develops and implements Human Resources strategy and policies, assisting and advising the Tribal Council, Executives and management about Human Resources issues. The individual ensures coordination across departments, disciplines, and services to deliver effective responses to employee issues. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management, Personnel Administration, Public Administration, Business administration, or related field is required. Master’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in Human Resources with at least five (5) years of experience in an HR leadership management capacity is required. Additional HR management experience in lieu of education is acceptable. Prior Human Resources experience in the public sector is highly preferred. Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification (SHRM-CP/SCP) or Human Resources Certification Institute certification (PHR/SPHR) is preferred. Knowledge of principles and practices of the STOF organization, human resources administration and applicable Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to human resources administration is required. Knowledge and/or experience working with Native American culture is highly desirable. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s license is required. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
