Job Description

The incumbent in this position performs a variety of duties in support of sworn law enforcement officers. Duties include the preparation of various reports, utilization of police communication equipment, direct contact with the community and operating a motor vehicle. The individual in this position is considered a non-sworn, civilian member of the Seminole Police Department, with no arrest powers; who is trained to perform selected police functions. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. If requested, ability to successfully complete a Public Safety Aide Academy. Knowledge of polices, rules and regulations of a Public Safety Department and experience implementing public safety practices, principles, and procedures of police work. Knowledge of pertinent Federal and State laws and Tribal Ordinances is highly preferred. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and facilities. Must be subject to be on call 24 hours per day to be advised of or respond to situations requiring additional workforce. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
