Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating, promoting and implementing of twelve-step recovery activities/events for Tribal Members. The individual assists with the placement of twelve-step recovery support groups and participates in individual and groups sessions with Tribal Members regarding provision of aftercare services. The incumbent serves as a liaison between Tribal Members, treatment centers and related organizations that provide treatment and support to clients/patients and offer aftercare resources. Employees in this class perform duties with some autonomy; make independent judgments within established policies and procedures. High School diploma or equivalent GED equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience serving as a Tribal employee in a position that provided assistance and support for members in recovery, is required. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community based treatment. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Ability to speak the Creek and/or Miccosukee language is preferred. Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Being member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is highly preferred.
