Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing the activities of a major division(s) of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Information Technology Department. The Assistant Director assists in the development of goals and objectives and technology roadmaps consistent with the department’s strategic plan. The individual works well independently, as a manager, and with teams, in order to meet the needs and expectations of the end users. The incumbent demonstrates and ensures a service-oriented customer service; while building, fostering and maintaining open communication and respectful interaction within staff, in support of the Department mission and values. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in computer science or related field, is required. A minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in management information systems administration, with at least three (3) years managing/supervising technical support staff, is required. Prior experience working with major telecommunications system, such as voice, data, video, voice mail, microwave, multiplex, networking, and FM two-way radios and which must have included responsibility for the installation and maintenance of a major telecommunications system minimally equivalent to a 2,500-line voice/data telephone system is highly desirable. Senior-level experience with local or Tribal government preferred, is preferred. Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNE) certification is highly desirable. Must possess seasoned experience with telecommunication and network protocols. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel extensively and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
