Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Worker’s Compensation Program. The individual manages and supervises the investigation and determination process of workers' compensation claims, facilitating resolution agreements, for Director’s approval, requesting the redetermination of a claimant's eligibility for benefits and/or the level and type of compensation and monitoring the STOF business practices of insurance carriers to ensure their compliance with workers' compensation law and procedures. The individual assists the Director to maintain strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement. Plans, assigns and reviews the work of subordinate staff and coordinates support services such as personnel, and records maintenance. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management or related field, or similarly related field is required. Licensed as State of Florida Insurance 5-20 is preferred. Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Claims (AIC) or Certification in Workers Compensation (CWC) is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in worker’s compensation, risk management, investigating or processing claims, Insurance Company, Third Party Administrator, Broker with a minimum of three (3) years of experience working at a leadership capacity is required. Knowledge in the areas of Auto, General Liability, Employment Practices, Property, Medical Malpractice and Workers Compensation is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
