Job Description

The incumbent is this position is responsible for providing academic advisement for prospective, current, and former students within a specified Seminole Tribe of Florida Center for Student Success and Services (CSSS) Program. Assesses academic levels and responds to students’ academic inquiries. Assists in the resolution of individual academic problems and advises on academic program changes. The incumbent analyzes applications, transfers evaluation requests and transcripts for the admission or discharge of an educational program, as well as assists those who seek to obtain the General Education Diploma (GED). Develops and maintains appropriate files and records. Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of six (6) months of experience working as an education advisor, academic counselor ore related field is required. Certification as a Professional Educator is preferred. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
