Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Board Executive Director of Operations in managing daily operational activities, including sales and distribution of some of the various business units owned and operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Inc. The individual assists in the formulation of policies, and planning use of materials and human resources to ensure maximum productivity. The Assistant Director of Operations provides technical assistance in determining departments’ needs, reducing costs, analyzing areas in need of improvement, and making recommendations to departments on matters pertaining to service levels, performance standards and quality control procedures. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing financial statements, sales and activities reports; assisting in the oversight of production or service delivery, and establishing long-term goals and objectives for the departments. Works closely with the various Department Director(s) and adheres to established policies and procedures. The position may require occasional work on weekends and travel. Bachelor’s Degree with major course work in Business Administration, Finance or a related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years senior leadership role in the appropriate field. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be consider. Prior experience with budget and business plan development is required. Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands, is required. Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines. Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity. Demonstrated superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings. Masterful organizational, written and verbal communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Software. Must possess a valid Florida Driver License and have the ability to travel locally and nationally. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
