Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervising, planning and directing the work of skilled and semiskilled Housing Maintenance Technicians for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The individual is responsible for assigning, inspecting and supervising the work of employees performing residential homes/building maintenance and repair activities related to plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical, air-conditioning, refrigeration and/or electronic door installation, and or other residential maintenance areas. The incumbent often participates in the more difficult maintenance tasks. Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed through conferences, reports and results obtained. High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of eight (8) years of prior progressively responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds with proven experience in organization and supervision of maintenance crews is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida State trade specific license or certification (Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry). Must possess a valid ten (10) hour Certification in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and a valid Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification or be able to obtain both within six (6) months of employment. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to travel to all Seminole Reservations and facilities. This position requires the incumbent to be on a twenty-four hour call (24/7) basis and/or to regularly work on various shifts, weekends, evenings and/or holidays as deemed necessary.
