Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for planning, developing, and enforcing health programs to maintain health and sanitation standards, regulations, and procedures designed to protect the public within the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes work environments and designs programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. The incumbent conducts inspections and enforces adherence to regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Develops and coordinates health and safety education and training programs. Educates the general public about the regulatory requirements for public health and safety and utilizes best practices for reducing hazardous conditions in publicly accessible areas. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Environmental/Occupational Health or Registration as a Sanitarian or Environmental Health Specialist is required. Home sanitation / Community Environmental Health experience and Indoor Air Quality experience is highly preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required. Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and other locations as necessary. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
