Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing program planning, administrative and supervisory support in ambulatory nursing care services provided by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, as well as implementing and evaluating individual patient care plans, discharge planning, and complex outpatient needs. The individual performs prospective, concurrent, and retrospective evaluation of clinical information to establish medical necessity, appropriateness of services and cost effectiveness, and serves as patients’ and families advocate during hospital stays and outpatient status. The incumbent supervises, trains, evaluates and coordinates work schedules, and implements staffing and policies and procedures for the effective running of the Health Department. The individual prepares and submits departmental reports to the administration as necessary, and acts as a patient advocate to ensure health, comfort and safety. Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, Health Care Management, Business Administration or related discipline is required. Current and valid State of Florida’s Registered Nurse License is preferred. Certification in Case Management is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the administration side of a Health facility, or as Registered Nurse or Medical Case Manager is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License are required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
