The incumbent in this position is responsible for assuring compliance with all applicable Fire Prevention and Life Safety Codes as adopted by the Seminole Tribe. This includes Life Safety Inspections, Plan Reviews, Fire Investigations, and Public Education programs. The incumbent will educate the Seminole Tribe Community Members and employees in the detection and elimination of fire and life safety hazards. The Inspector will investigate complaints regarding fire and life safety hazards/violations and conduct fire drills in schools within the Seminole Tribe of Florida Reservations. State of Florida Fire Inspector I certification is required. Minimum three (3) years of experience performing construction inspections and code enforcement work is preferred. Ability to obtain the State of Florida Fire Investigator certification within two years of employment. Possession of a valid Florida Class “E” Driver’s License is required. Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) certificate is required within three months of employment. The Inspector must be able to travel to all reservations and to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
