Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Behavioral Health & Guardianship Services Senior Director in administering and oversight of the overall operations and delivery services of the community-based Guardianship and Advocacy programs designed to support the needs of Seminole Tribal Members. The individual ensures quality of services, oversees the provision of immediate crisis intervention, stabilization services for Tribal families with a child or children at imminent risk of danger; and the administration of transitional housing to the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s youth who are subject to child welfare matters. The Assistant Director assists the Behavioral Health & Guardianship Services Senior Director with the administration of the guardianship and conservatorship activities of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s members. The incumbent also assists with the planning, developing, and coordination of programs designed to provide in-home and out-of-home services to abused and/or neglected STOF children and their families in order to help them stay together. The incumbent oversees and supervises all staff ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and STOF policies and procedures. Master’s degree in Social Work (Florida State License as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required) with experience working as a paralegal in the field of social services or Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with experience in working in the field of social services. A minimum of five (5) years working in social services, child and family advocacy case management, or foster care field with supervisory capacity experience is required. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and able to travel to all Seminole Reservations and other facilities. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
