Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the supervision of the Seminole Media Productions editorial development process, including generating content ideas and the creation of visual, textual and hierarchical presentations of editorial content; researching and coordinating ideas related to issues and events relevant to the Tribal Community; writing, editing stories/articles as needed. The individual monitors and ensures editorial quality control and implements editorial policies and procedures consistent with ethical standards, work rules, and editorial vision plan. Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, Publishing, Communications, English, Arts or related field is required. A minimum of five (3) years of experience working as editor, writer or similar position in broadcasting/ publishing companies is required; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Knowledge of principles and methods of non-linear computer editing, high definition (HD) camera operation, script writing and graphic design is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all locations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
