Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Collections Manager and Collections Assistant in processing archaeological artifacts received at the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO) laboratory. The individual washes, catalogs, and prepares artifacts for analysis and curation; provides support to the senior staff and consulting analysts in regards to collection needs; assists staff members with project needs and provides assistance and support to meet the general needs of the THPO. Bachelor’s Degree in in Anthropology, Museum Studies, Collections Management or a related field required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the care of archaeological collections in an archaeological museum laboratory, required. The incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. The incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
