Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Seminole Tribe of Florida Inc. (Board) Executive Director of Finance in planning, directing and coordinating the operations of all direct services departments under the purview of the Executive Director Office. The individual assists in creating, formulating, and implementing policies and standard operating procedures; providing technical advice and directives to departmental management; and overseeing departments/programs contents, operations, initiatives. The Senior Director assists the Executive Director with the overall management of the Board accounting functions, including but not limited to general accounting ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable financial reporting and Budget. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accuracy of general ledger and budget, and timely completion of all financial reporting and/or statement. Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Public Administration is required. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in finance, accounting, contracts, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and automated financial reporting systems in a management capacity is required. Thorough knowledge of GAAP and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB-34) governmental reporting requirements is required. Certification as Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. Knowledge of and experience in strategic financial planning and resource allocation. Knowledge of and experience in the procurement of funds. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate proficiency computer and software applications. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holiday.
