Job Description
The Judicial Advisor is the advisor to the Seminole Trial Court judicial staff, making recommendations on law and procedure to their assigned judge. The Judicial Advisor must follow all policies and procedures of the Seminole Tribal Court and is bound by the ethical standards established by the Seminole Tribal Court. The applicant must be a law school graduate at the time of appointment and must have a minimum of 7 years legal work experience post law graduation. Experience on law review, moot court and/or publication of noteworthy article and high academic standing is preferred. Florida bar membership is beneficial, but not a requirement. Must have experience in trial court advocacy, with a tribal court preferably. Experience as a Tribal Court judge preferred. Must possess excellent research, writing and communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft software packages and add-ins. Attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
