Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the coordination of the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation of various grants opportunities for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The individual will function as a liaison with funding agencies, end-user departments, and consultants to ensure that grant applications are completed on a timely basis and in compliance with regulatory, grantor agency, and Tribal policy requirements. The incumbent in this position researches and identifies available grant funding opportunities and may be required to write grants, assists outside contractor’s for preparation of grant applications or work to support existing and planned projects for various departments across the Tribe. Other activities may also include monitoring or evaluating compliance with established program outcomes; assisting and making recommendations on matters pertaining to grant writing; and monitoring fiscal management procedures. Bachelor’s degree with major course work in public or business administration or field related to area of assignment is required. Minimum of five (5) years of grant writing experience, initiating, managing and/or monitoring contracts, grants and/or leases is required. Prior experience at government level is preferred. An equivalent combination of experience will be considered. Demonstrated successful track record of securing new funding opportunities. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages and add-ins. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to travel to all Seminole Reservations and facilities. The incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
