Job Description

The incumbent in the Math Interventionist/Instructional Coach position is responsible for providing instructional leadership to the A Teachers to improve the quality of teaching and learning by providing intentional, ongoing support to staff at the school and classroom levels within the Ahfachkee School. The individual works with staff members to implement effective instructional programs using research-based strategies and schools standards. Supports all phases of the implementation of assessment programs; facilitates data review and analysis of students’ assessment data with teachers. Helps teachers identify students’ needs based on data, and assists teachers to plan and take action to alter instruction. The Instructional Coach collaborates with teachers and other members to increase the effectiveness of staff in use of adopted curricula and instructional programs. The incumbent collaborates with other instructional coaches, school principal, and management team to coordinate and implement school-wide assessments. This position is classified as a Professional-52; which requires a 42 week work period (approximately 10 months) paid across a 52 week (12 month) pay cycle. Bachelor’s degree in Education. A Master’s degree in Education is preferred. The incumbent must hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate in one or more of the following areas: Elementary Education, Reading K-12, Mathematics Middle School or High School. A minimum of four (4) years of teaching experience required. Two (2) years of experience in consulting and/or serving as instructional coaching at the Elementary, Middle or High School Level, is required. Demonstrate experience working with culturally, socially and economically diverse students and parent/guardian populations. Demonstrate experience working with at-risk student populations. Demonstrate experience with implementation or professional development of plans. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida driver’s license. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills. Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills. Must be willing to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
