Job Description

The Behavioral Health Medical Social Worker is responsible for the coordination of services in response medically complex cases during the assigned shift. The incumbent provides Behavioral Health on-going case management support to individuals receiving services (non-crisis situations), who are placed on residential treatment and receiving psychiatric care. The individual works with the hospital to obtain records and necessary medical information and coordinate medical care. The incumbent applies a wide range of mental health service delivery/therapeutic techniques, crisis response, and in-depth knowledge of treatment for co-occurring disorders and trauma-based therapeutic modalities. Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health, or Family Therapy is required. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in a behavioral health field as a clinician providing direct services to individuals with co-occurring disorders (e.g. mental health disorders/substance dependence-related conditions), utilizing family systems and/or community-based treatments, with at least five (5) years providing clinical regular supervision to staff, is required. Florida State License as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Mental Health Counselor (MHC), or License as Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is required. Certification of Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), Certified Associates Addictions Professional (CAAP), or Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) in the State of Florida is preferred. Board Certification with the Indian Health Services (IHS)/United South & Eastern Tribes (USET) is preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community based treatment. Ability to speak the Creek and/or Miccosukee language is preferred. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel across reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
