Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Heritage and Environment Resources Office (HERO) Sr. Scientist/Liaison in providing technical expertise to HERO programs, in areas related to projects that might affect the current Seminole Tribe of Florida tribal lands or the ancestral, aboriginal, and ceded lands. The Program Analyst II works to track off reservation projects and coordinate/schedule with external Federal and State Agencies in order to facilitate strong lines of communication and cooperation particularly in areas of environmental, water and cultural resources. The individual supports the Senior Scientist/Liaison facilitating and coordinating government-to-government consultations, interagency meetings. The incumbent will be expected to assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with other working groups and external STOF law firms; enhancing cooperation between the Seminole Tribe of Florida and external agencies. Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with Tribal, Federal or State Governments in Environmental, Water Resource or Cultural Project Management is required or similar equivalent work. Experience and competency in the review of complex technical documents is preferred. The incumbent must possess a valid Florida driver’s license. Proficiency with Microsoft software packages (especially Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Explorer, and Power Point) and a willingness to learn GIS and document management software is required. Candidates who already possess a GIS knowledge and experience are preferred. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent office and interpersonal skills. Must be able to travel across reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
