Job Description
The Tribal Guardianship program within the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s (STOF) Advocacy & Guardianship Department (AGD) provides a comprehensive variety of Guardianship services. The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing supportive services and management of Tribal Member ward’s affairs, and ensuring proper coordination of services related to their personal and medical care and well-being, legal custody, and/or control of the property/finances of Tribal Member wards whom have been determined unable to manage their own financial and/or personal affairs, by reason of their age (minors), illnesses related to aging, developmental disabilities, or other incapacity. The individual coordinates services on behalf of the ward; ensuring compliance with all applicable Tribal, State and Federal regulations that have been adopted by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Case Management, or related field is required. Master’s degree in Human services related field is highly preferred. Guardianship certification preferred. A minimum of three (3) year of experience working in the Child Welfare field as social worker or case worker or prior experience with in the behavioral health field including experience working with multi- diagnosed individuals (e.g. mental health disorders/substance dependence-related conditions); family systems and/or community-based treatments is required. Experience working with populations diagnosed with psychiatric, substance use, and intellectual developmental disorders is preferred. Knowledge of community support services, the ability to participate and contribute as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community based services. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License, is required. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
