The incumbent in this position is responsible for safeguarding patrons visiting the Seminole Tribe of Florida aquatics facilities or when engaged in a STOF activity at any public aquatics' facility. The individual ensures orderly behavior of patrons; prevents injury or loss of life of the patrons who are swimming or bathing; rescues those who might be in distress and performs water rescue and prevention techniques, first aid, and CPR. The incumbent also assists in the overall organization and delivery of general recreational activities, leagues, special events and other programs for the STOF Recreation Department and other assigned locations. High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification and current American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification are required. Prior experience as lifeguard is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must demonstrate the ability to manage diverse tasks and projects simultaneously. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Software. Must have the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
