Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the overall leadership and organization of all operations and programs under the for the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Environmental Resources Management Department (ERMD). The individual is responsible for directing staff on proper implementation of projects and program including but not limited to: (1) development and implementation of environmental and natural resource plans; (2) development and implementation of water resources programs; (3) development and implementation of strategic plans; (4) the development and implementation of policies and regulations; (5) community engagement and outreach; (6) briefing Tribal Leadership on environmental and natural resource issues; (7) development and implementation of work plans; (8) development and implementation of financial budgets; (9) secure and manage grants; (10) coordinate and provide administrative support to the Seminole Water Commission; (11) provide operational support during all hazards threats to the Seminole Tribe of Florida; and (12) other environmental and/or natural resources related needs as they arise. Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Biology, Forestry, Geology, Hydrology or other related field is required. Minimum of seven (7) years of management experience in natural resource conservation, including irrigation and drainage work is required. Prior experience with soil and water resources (in planning and management) is required; or an equivalent combination of relevant education/training and experience will be considered. Demonstrated ability to successfully secure and manage multiple budgets including Federal grants essential. General knowledge of legal principles, methods and practices is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations and to any other existing and/or prospective business sites and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays is a requirement.
