Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the safety and security of the Trading Post. The individual monitors customers and customer areas inside and outside the Trading Post for safety and security issues. Patrols Trading Post building and property and ensures the safety of employees and customers. The incumbent responds to emergencies and contacts local police enforcement when needed. Work requires excellent customer service and a considerable amount of independent judgment although work is performed within established policies and procedures. High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as security guard or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience is required. Completion of classroom training in property rights, emergency procedures, and detention of suspected criminals is preferred. CPR and First Aid certification is required, or will need to be completed after employment. Familiarity with security and surveillance equipment and radio frequency equipment is preferred. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing computer software packages to issue access cards. Must be able travel and to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
