Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for planning, organizing and conducting traditional Seminole sewing/craft educational lessons for Tribal Community Members in order to enhance their developmental skills and promote native customs and traditions. Instructs and imparts knowledge and skills to students and the Tribal Community in the traditional Sewing and Craft Arts according to specified course content established by the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Educational guidelines. Encourages students’ participation and participates in cultural activities and events that will enhance and promotes cultural awareness. High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred. Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in education system-related projects is preferred. Ability to speak the Creek and/or Miccosukee language is highly preferred. The incumbent must be familiar with traditional Seminole sewing art, culture and history. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
