Job Description

This technical scientific position is primarily responsible for supporting the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s (“STOF”) environmental scientific monitoring/assessment and natural resource management program goals and objectives, as implemented by the Environmental Resources Management Department (ERMD) Environmental Science Section. The incumbent assists environmental scientists by making comprehensive site-specific observations, gathering data, and collecting biological samples. The incumbent often performs field surveys specific to the STOF’s regulatory compliance matters. The incumbent maintains scientific sampling equipment and documents performance Quality Assurance (QA)/ Quality Control (QC). Associates Degree in Biology, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Prior Florida field experience is preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to travel to all Seminole Tribe of Florida facilities. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, in particular, to disseminate programmatic results to the Tribal Community and external agencies. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages, GIS, and GPS platforms. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
