Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for collaborating with the AWARE Mental Wellness Program Manager and all school administration to develop and implement school-based programs to enhance the identification, prevention, and treatment of emotional and behavioral disorders among STOF school-aged youth who attend the Lead Education Agencies (LEAs). The individual coordinates and provides psychoeducational trainings to school staff and serves as liaison between Aware-Mental Wellness Program and involved LEAs. The individual coordinates along with the Mental Wellness Program Manager the provision of services and ensures the standardizations of services across all reservations and provides referrals. Employees in this class perform duties with autonomy; make independent judgments within established policies and procedures. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, or Family Therapy is required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a behavioral health field, including experience working with multi-diagnosed individuals (e.g. mental health disorders/substance dependence-related conditions); family systems and/or community-based treatments is required. Florida State License as Mental Health Counselor (MHC) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Family Therapist (MFT) is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community based treatment. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel nationally to attend meetings conferences and/or training sessions and be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays, are requirements of this positon.
