Job Description

This is responsible supervisory work in public works. The incumbent is this position is responsible for supervising, assigning and coordinating, the work performed by the Public Works Transfer Station Operators assigned to the Seminole Tribe of Florida Reservation. The incumbent is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in directing field operations and in resolving work problems in accordance with established policy and procedure. High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Solid Waste Management, recycling and composting, with at least one (1) years of experience in a supervisory capacity is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver Licensed (CDL) for the State of Florida is required. Ability to attend and obtain 40 Hour Haz-Mat Health and Safety Program certification is required. Demonstrate excellent English written and oral communication skills and organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft software programs including Excel. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays and be available for emergencies 24/7.
