Position: Accounting Technician

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing accounting support to the functions performed within the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Accounting Department. The individual performs technical and office support work related to the collection, preparation and distribution of accounting information and documents, maintenance and reconciliation of accounts; posting basic information to accounting journals or accounting software from a source documents and providing general office support work to the accounting staff. Associate’s Degree is required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is highly preferred. Prior working experience within an accounting office is required. Prior experience in governmental accounting/auditing settings and fixed asset accounting is preferred. Basic knowledge of accounting principles is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
