Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the negotiation of contract terms and conditions between the Health Administration Department, contracted physicians and ancillary providers. The Contract Negotiator oversees the acquisition, management and administration of Healthcare contract providers; facilitates the negotiation of contract terms and conditions; audits, drafts and reviews contracts; investigates the validity of contract documents, credentials, rate comparisons and network access prior to submission for Executive Director approval, ensuring that are in adherence with Tribal benefits and eligibility along with contact compliance and other regulatory standards. The individual provides guidance to the Health and Human Services staff related to contracted providers payment. The individual collaborates with other departments to gather and generate qualitative data analyses to support contracts and negotiations cost effectively. The incumbent maintains and consistently manages all proposals and contracts, which generally includes oversight of the contract management process, as well as development of specific standards for bidding and submission, and contract negotiations. This position reports to the Health Plan Program Director and is an exempt position. Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare management or related field is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a healthcare contract management role as claims auditors, benefits coordinator or experience processing insurance claims is required, including experience in applying organizational standards when developing contract proposals, negotiating terms and drafting contracts. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience may be considered.. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate excellent negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on-one and group situations. Demonstrate excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft office software is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
