Job Description

The incumbent in this position performs a variety of duties in support of the Public Safety Department. Responsibilities and duties include: maintain the vehicles of the Public Safety Department in great working condition; assure all vehicles have been properly assigned equipment and replenish any spent equipment from warehouse or new order from vendor; maintain and update vehicle records; interact and coordinate with vendors and Public Safety staff for maintenance and repairs; drive to vendors and other reservations to pick up or drop off vehicles, organize equipment and supplies in warehouse, and update spreadsheets and vehicle files. Assistance may be needed with processing requests for equipment, uniforms, supplies, and misc. orders. Other Logistic duties may be assigned. Must be able to operate standard office equipment; ability to be able to bend, reach, pull, push and lift heavy objects weighing approximately 50 lbs.; have understanding of automotive terms; have basic mechanical skills; have experience driving a variety of vehicles including utility trailers; and have the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, Tribal office employees, administrative personnel, and Logistics Team and other Logistics duties as assigned. Must be self-starter and detail oriented. Have a good understating of inventory control methods and accountabilities. Maintain confidentiality, plan and multitask, proofread and research files and logically organize information. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. If requested, ability to complete training, forklift certification, EVOC, etc. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and facilities. Must be subject to be on call 24 hours per day to be advised of or respond to situations requiring additional workforce. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
