Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the direct care and providing a safe environment to the youth admitted to the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Youth Home while providing supervision to all STOF/Contractors and implementing sound procedures from a behavioral or mental health standpoint. The individual provides afternoon and evening relief to the Youth Home Administrator and the Therapeutic Treatment Supervisor, by monitoring and supervising residents, ensuring compliance with house rules, regulations, and assisting in the daily operational when needed. This individual assists in the development and implementation of all steps consistently and accurately for all treatment programs including, but not limited to, Daily Living Skills, Formal Behavioral Intervention Plans, Special Education Plan, and/or any recommendations for Occupational, Speech or Physical Therapy. The incumbent in this position is committed to the mission, vision, and values of STOF through ethical conduct, community stewardship, individual initiative and responsive service. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health or Psychology is required. Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) is required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with youth who have been diagnosed or display mental health challenges resulting in behavioral outbursts, tantrum, non-compliance, etc., is required. The person must have worked for 3 years in an environment that have called for systematic and appropriate reaction to reductive behaviors and can independently react appropriately to a multitude of situations that may arise in a residential or day treatment program for at risk youth. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. The incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Availability and willingness to work a wide array of hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays is required by the position.
