Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing in-depth individual counseling services to Tribal children and youth in areas including co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, alcohol abuse and/or drug abuse within the Center for Behavioral Health of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Work involves the application of a variety of advanced mental health service delivery skills (e.g., therapeutic interventions, diagnostic/assessment techniques, etc.). Additionally, work may encompass the use of group methodologies and skill training within established policies and procedures. Employees in this class perform duties with some autonomy; makes independent judgments within established policies and procedures. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, or Family Therapy is required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a behavioral health field, including experience working with multi-diagnosed individuals (e.g. mental health disorders/substance dependence-related conditions); family systems and/or community-based treatments is required. Florida State License as Mental Health Counselor (MHC) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Family Therapist (MFT) is preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community based treatment. Ability to speak the Creek and/or Miccosukee language is preferred. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
