Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Environmental Resource Director in directing and overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of a Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Environmental Resource Management Department (ERMD). The individual assists in the management of the department’s operations and services provided and ensures compliance with STOF’s policies and procedures. The incumbent assists in the development, implementation and administration of department’s policies, objectives and procedures. The individual assists to maintain strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement. The incumbent plans, directs, assigns and reviews the work of subordinate staff and coordinates support services such as personnel, and records maintenance. Provides assistance in the development and implantation of procedures necessary to carry out these responsibilities. Considerable independent judgment and initiative is exercised in conformance with STOF’s operating policies and procedures. Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration or other related field is required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing programs related to natural resource conservation, including irrigation and drainage work or related field is required; or an equivalent combination of relevant education/training and experience will be considered. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
