Job Description
This is a non-sworn, full time Management position under the general direction of the Public Safety Logistics and Fiscal Operations Director. The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing specialized, administrative, and technical logistic work in support of the operations of the Seminole Police Department (SPD) and Seminole Fire Rescue Department (SFR). The individual manages and implements logistic policies and procedures and manages and supervises all procurement activities and inventory control for the SPD and SFR. The Logistic Manager serves as liaison with the Purchasing Department to coordinate the requisition and purchase of supplies and materials. The individual maintains accurate inventory of supplies, equipment and material; forecast, and project equipment and supply needs; coordinates delivery of supplies to other reservations; advises on commodity specifications, bid quotes, contract requests, vendor selection, and billing transactions. The incumbent establishes warehouse safety practice protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse work environment, while in compliance with of all supplies, equipment and materials protocol practices and standards. Associate’s Degree in Business Management or related field, or a degree from an accredited and recognized Technical Institute in a related field is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferable. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of three (3) years of responsible leadership experience in a management, supervisory, or warehouse management position will suffice. Previous experience in inventory control, working in a warehouse setting, receiving, storing and dispensing ordered goods, using an inventory control system is required; or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and work experience demonstrating the knowledge, abilities, and skills cited above. Possession of a Florida Driver’s License and be able to obtain or possess a certificate of completion from an approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations, and to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays is a requirement of this position.
