Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and managing all aspects of collections management for the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum. The individual oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the permanent collections currently owned by the Museum including the approval of all artifacts lent to or received from other approved institutions, as well as any objects utilized for exhibit, conservation, or research purposes. The Collections Manager is an integral member of the Museum’s management team. Bachelor’s degree in History, anthropology or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred. Certification or courses taken in museum management is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of management experience in a museum environment or related setting is required. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Knowledge of Past Perfect museum software is preferred. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
