Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the staff assigned to the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Tribal Historic Preservation Office’s (THPO) Archaeometry Section, in regards to the efficient and timely management and processing of the regulatory on-reservation permitting process. The individual systematically tracks all on-reservation project reviews, and coordinates and maintains constant communication with all stakeholders (internal and external departments and agencies) to in order to ensure the efficiency and timely completion of the review. In addition, the incumbent also assists with the successful integration of GIS web services and document management, and to perform GIS processing of on-reservation projects. Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History or related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting Phase I fieldwork, including at least one (1) year of cultural resource management with an emphasis on the Section 106 process, is required. A minimum of one (1) year of GIS experience using ESRI applications (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online or Portal) is required. A solid understanding of all federal and state laws that pertain to historic preservation. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must have the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
