Job Description

The incumbent in this position serves as a member of the Advocacy program’s child welfare case management team to provide support and assistance to children and families to aid in the prevention of child abuse and neglect in at-risk families. The Tribal-Wide Family Support Worker works in conjuncture with the Child Advocates and Advocacy program staff to support parental progress in treatment interventions, education, and other supportive services; and to assist in maintaining child safety and well-being. Services include assisting in crisis intervention, case management, child development education, and education/resource information for issues such as domestic violence, drug abuse, mental illness, underdeveloped coping skills, relationship problems, and poor communication skills. A High school diploma is required. Associate’s degree is highly preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the Human or Social Services field with family systems and/or community-based care agencies is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
