Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing a variety of technical, supportive and clerical duties in the pharmacy in accordance with all applicable State, Federal and Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Health Department guidelines. The individual performs prescription order entries; prepares and labels medicines; communicates with both internal and external healthcare providers, maintains inventory control and pharmacy records as required by law, and stores drugs and supplies per industry guidelines. The incumbent is also responsible for answering the phones, ordering and stocking the pharmacy with inventory and dispensing supplies; operating the pharmacy drive thru window per established protocol and updating all demographic, allergy and insurance information in the computer system. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a pharmacy is required. Knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology is required. Current and active State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration is required. Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred. Must demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications. Must have the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
