Job Description

The individual in this role is responsible for managing and enhancing the STOF Nutrition Program, which includes ambulatory care, home health services, institutional menu planning, and community education for all age groups. They provide specialized nutrition consultation and education to patients and their families, focusing on clinical areas of nutrition that require additional training and specialist certification, particularly in obesity and weight management. As the Chief Clinical Dietitian (CCD), this person is a clinical content expert and a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, advocating for patients' nutritional needs. The CCD ensures patients' nutritional requirements are met, including the initiation and management of nutrition support (enteral or parenteral) when necessary. They also provide clinical training and supervisory oversight to Integrative Health nutrition staff, develop and manage nutrition policies and guidelines, and manage resources cost-effectively. Additionally, the CCD participates in compliance and quality performance improvement efforts to ensure safe and effective nutrition care. The CCD travels to various tribal communities to ensure continuity of nutrition care for patients, support professional development for nutrition staff, and uphold evidence-based nutrition practices. Bachelor’s degree in nutrition from an accredited college or university is required. State of Florida Dietetic License Registered Dietician (RD) credentialing is required. A minimum of (10) ten years of professional work experience in clinical nutrition as an RD and specialty clinical certification, with at least of two (2) years supervisory/managerial experience, is required. Prior experience (8+ years) including obesity and weight management specialist certificate, is preferred. Meal planning and meal preparation experience is also required. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in diabetes, renal disease and enteral/parenteral therapeutics. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and teaching skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to travel to all Seminole Reservations. The incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
