Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the design, planning, review and coordination of a wide variety of projects in the areas of roadway design and land development. The individual ensures that all proposed designs meet or exceed compliance with government standards and local and federal regulations for roadway design and land development. The incumbent manages the work of consultants, perform in-house designs, and field reviews to assess the projects; develops cost-estimates, coordinates functions with other Tribal Departments as well as conducts informational presentations to the Tribal Community. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar area of specialty is required. Must obtain State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license within 2 years of hire. A minimum of four (4) years of experience working as Civil Engineer in transportation projects or construction management experience is required. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Civil Engineering and Transportation field is required. Computer Aided design skills is required. Knowledge of Microstation, GEOpak and/or Stormwater Management Design is highly desired. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft, AutoCAD, Water and Sewer Modeling Software and ESRI (GIS) software packages. Must be able to travel to all Seminole Tribe of Florida facilities and to work a flexible work schedules, including evenings, holidays and weekends.
