Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor with the oversight of staff performing the maintenance, repair of rural roads and related infrastructure. This role ensures the safe, timely, and efficient completion of road projects by coordinating a team of workers and managing equipment, materials, and resources. The foreman ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and maintain high safety and quality standards throughout all operations. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of two (2) years of road/transportation maintenance, road construction/resurface and/or project management is required; any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training will be considered. Prior experience in operating heavy equipment is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Commercial Drivers License is preferred. Familiarity with safety regulations and ability to enforce safety protocols on the job site. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
