Job Description

This is an entry-level position within the Climate Resiliency Program, administered through the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Environmental Protection Office (EPO). The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the coordination of a “Sustainable and Climate Resilient Communities” Workshop Series and the drafting of the Tribe’s first Climate Action Plan. The individual supports the program in climate related research, as well as the inclusion of sustainability into the Tribe’s policies, operations, and future investments. The individual supports the program in utilizing both western-based science and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) to assess climate risks, and promote best practices that will protect the lives, assets, and lifeways of the Seminole community. College Degree is required. Prior experience working in an office setting is preferred. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft software and applications related to the work including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point. Demonstrate strong English written and verbal, and interpersonal skills. Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required. Must be able to travel to all the STOF Reservations and areas of interest to Seminole culture and history across Florida. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
