Job Description

The Stormwater Review Engineer is responsible for the review and evaluation of stormwater management systems on permit applications to ensure compliance with applicable Tribal laws and ordinances (e.g., Tribal Water Code), the Criteria Manual of the Seminole Tribe of Florida Water Rights Compact ("Criteria Manual"), and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. This role involves assessing engineering plans, reviewing drawings, calculations, data, and hydrologic modeling; performing site inspections before, during, and upon completion of project construction, and serve as a technical subject matter expert within the Environmental Resources Department (ERD) as part of Environmental Permitting and Compliance review team. This individual provides support during emergency situations (e.g. tropical cyclones, flood evets, etc.). Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Civil, Hydraulic, Agricultural or Water Resource Engineering, from an Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET) accredited program is required. An active State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License is required. A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in water resources engineering/stormwater engineering or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience may be considered. Possession and maintenance of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications packages is required. Must have the ability to travel to all Seminole Tribe of Florida Reservations, Tribally owned lands, and facilities, and to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekends, when required. This position requires to be available for on-call support 24/7, responding to emergency maintenance and operational issues as required.
