Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s (“STOF”) Claims & Safety Management Program. This includes the oversight of first party and third-party claims on all general and automobile liability accidents for the STOF government exposure. The individual shall also evaluate and investigate complex claims and recommend appropriate action. Using the STOFs Risk Management Information System (RMIS), the individual maintains accurate case files and reserves. This individual serves as the liaison between the insurance carriers, attorneys, insurance companies and other parties involved in the loss. Additionally, this individual is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive Safety Compliance program for STOF operations and employees to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, equipment/property damage loss and financial loss. The incumbent develops accident-prevention and loss-control programs for STOFs operational needs. The individual assists the Director to maintain strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety/Health Programs, Risk Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or similarly related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in risk management, property insurance, property casualty or industrial safety environment is required. Possession of State of Florida 5-20 Adjuster’s License is required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Knowledge of tribal regulations and business commercial laws and regulations is highly desirable. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
