Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing technical support of specialized land mobile radio (LMR) communications systems and product applications. The individual trains end users and other personnel on equipment operation and/or maintenance and performs preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and thorough documentation of results. The incumbent performs advanced troubleshooting of software driven electronics, provisioning of communications system infrastructure and performance optimization of Radio Frequency (RF) and Broadband architecture. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience working in the telecommunications industry (700 MHz, 800MHz, VHF, or 4.9 GHz) including planning, design, and construction of radio communications projects. Experience must include working with large, multi-site radio and/or microwave networks (conventional and/or trunked radio systems). Possession of a valid Amateur Radio License issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is required. Possession of a valid FL Driver’s License is required. Business and Education Radio (NABER) Certification and APCO Certificate in public safety radio are preferred. Prior experience working with EDACs/Motorola, Knowledge with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Access, Project and Power Point). Familiar with analog and digital (DMR) programming. Demonstrate Excellent English written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations and work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
