Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Facility Manager in managing the day to day operations of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Building and Grounds Department located at one of the Tribe’s Reservations. The Assistant Facility Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the facility through the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs required by the Tribe or its departments. The ultimate goal is to assure a well managed well-maintained property with an emphasis on a positive and timely response to the concerns and needs of the Tribal Departments and the Tribal community. The incumbent serves as primary point of contact between the Tribe the technicians within the building and grounds department, ensuring that services are provided in compliance with the SOP of the department and resolving any issues that may arise. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring proper operation and maintenance of the Tribal Governmental buildings/facilities, grounds including electrical and mechanical equipment by staff and contractors in accordance with local, state, and national building codes. High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, Engineering, or related field is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities management performing in a supervisory and administrative capacity is required, or any equivalent combination of relevant education/training and experience will be considered. The incumbent must possess Property Management Certification and the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation or have the ability to secure within 12 months after employment.
