Job Description

The Transactional Accounting Assistant Director is responsible for assisting with the overall management of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s transactional accounting functions, including but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets. The individual oversees and ensures the efficient and effective processing of the accounts receivable and payable functions, including internal revenue transactions, revenue reporting; timely processing of purchase order payments, auditing and reconciling invoices and ledgers, preparing accounting reports (month-end and year end), and serving as liaison with divisions and vendors regarding accounting problems and procedures. The individual is also responsible for overseeing the operations and activities of Fixed Assets, ensuring the department’ strategic goals and objectives are meet. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration from an accredited university or a related field is required. A minimum of six (6) years of experience working in the accounting field in a supervisory capacity is required. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting software is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
