Job Description

The individual in this role is responsible for leading a genealogical program within the Secretary’s Office of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. This role involves overseeing genealogical research and documentation efforts, evaluating and organizing both onsite and remote genealogical resources to enhance accessibility for the Seminole government and community. Additionally, the individual plays a key role in preserving and reconstructing Tribal family ancestry and histories, conducts oral history interviews, and provides genealogical information and support to Tribal government, departments, and community members. Bachelor’s degree in History, Library Science, Anthropology, or related field is required. A minimum of five (5) years of previous experience in genealogical research, archival management, oral history, or related filed is required. An equivalent combination of related education/training and experience will be considered. Demonstrate considerable ability and skill to perform research and web based research is required. Possession of a valid State of Florida’ Drivers Licensed is required. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Software. Ability to work a flexible schedule and evenings, weekends and holidays.
